In the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences, we are dedicated to the unique success and academic excellence of each and every student who walks through our doors.

We are made up of four academic units: the School of Education, dedicated to the preparation of outstanding teachers; the School of Humanities, studying the nuance and significance of history, languages, and communication; the School of Sciences, searching for solutions to problems in the natural world; and the School of Visual and Performing Arts, where vibrant performances and artwork challenge and inspire us.Ìý

Â̲èÖ±²¥ history professor gives guest lecture at the University at Buffalo

Â̲èÖ±²¥ Professor of History Christopher Blackburn, Ph.D. was recently invited by the University at Buffalo to present the annual C.K. Huang Lecture in Medical History. The lecture took place in the Robert L. Brown History of Medicine Collection in the University at Buffalo's Abbot Library on November 9, 2023. The C.K. Huang Lecture is named in honor of the former director of the UB Health Sciences Library and is offered annually on relevant aspects of medical history.

Â̲èÖ±²¥ School of Visual and Performing Arts hosts annual holiday art sale

The Â̲èÖ±²¥ Holiday Art Sale has been a wonderful addition to the Fall Semester for over 20 years. Every year the Honorary Art Society, Kappa Pi, hosts and facilitates a maker-themed art sale. This year's sale will run from Wednesday, November 29 through Tuesday, December 5 in Bry Hall on the Â̲èÖ±²¥ campus. The sale is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Carole Kilpatrick donates $100K to create endowed professorship in music

The Â̲èÖ±²¥ Foundation held a reception on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, to celebrate and recognize the continued generosity of the Kilpatrick family toward Â̲èÖ±²¥. Mrs. Carole Kilpatrick presented a check for $100,000 to create the Carole E. Kilpatrick Endowed Professorship in Music.

Â̲èÖ±²¥ presents Kaleidoscope: A Global Holiday Celebration on Nov. 28

Â̲èÖ±²¥ School of Visual and Performing Arts is excited to announce "Kaleidoscope: A Global Holiday Celebration." The program is an immersive experience incorporating vocal and instrumental music, dance, and visual art. Kaleidoscope will take place in Brown Theatre, 4001 Desiard St. in Monroe on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins at 7:00 p.m. General admission tickets are $20 per person. Â̲èÖ±²¥ students are admitted free. Tickets for the Patron Pre-Party at 6:00 p.m. in Bry Art Gallery are available for $75 and include admission to the program. Tickets are available at ulm.edu/kaleidoscope.
